Week of 27-31

This week has lasted for more than an eternity. I have been at a conference for two days and I have had a million meetings...so my typical work schedule has been thrown out the door.

Casey found out that he gets to go to New York in a few days! The only way I agreed to it was a plan for me to go for a weekend. Those plans are still in the works!! hmmm we will see if they work out!

We have had a pretty uneventful week. My sister Andrea was here on Tuesday to have supper and hang with the boys on her way back from Omaha. Casey helped with harvest at our friend's house and they also invited Kenner to come and ride in the tractor. He was incredibly scared and Bob had to peel him off of me to get into the tractor. As you can see from the pictures, he felt like he was in a parade again. He was waving to everyone as he passed them. When he came in the house after his tractor ride...he was so proud of himself! It was hillarious to see him walk with a bounce in his step. What a big boy!

My sister Becca came out on Wed to help watch the boys while I did woodwork to prepare for my big open house for Pampered Chef next weekend. Thursday, Craig and Kendra took Kenner to the Tri County volleyball game so that Patton and I could continue with the woodwork. One more week of hitting it hard and we will be done!!! So pray that we continue to have patience so that we finish the projects with great detail:)

Tonight I was so dissapointed, because I forgot my camera in the car!!! We went to the birthday party of the Govenor's Mansion (Aunt Kendra had a lot to do with it). Kenner had a blast playing with bubbles, painting his face (thanks Trevor's mom), attempting to jump rope (which was hillarious), eating ice cream/pizza/popcorn, seeing Homer (click on me to read that post) , and finally jumping in the jumping tent. Kenner is getting so much better at going to bed also. Tonight his brother was the problem. His brother walks the crib and cries. I still am in awe that Patton is old enough to do that!

Week of 20-26

Wow! This week flew by. We were going somewhere every night...but that is okay, because it was my birthday:)

Monday- the boys and I stayed home and played trains with daddy.

Tuesday - My birthday. Kendra, Trevor, Craig, Jenn, Becca, Casey, Kenner and Patton and I went out to eat at the Outback. That was fun to hang out with everyone! Thank you to everyone that came! It really meant a lot! Tuesday night Casey and I decided that Kenner needed to learn to go to bed by himself and not have mommy fall asleep with him in his bed after they read books. Well Kenner screamed for an hour and then finally gave up. Poor guy...but hopefully we will see the rewards of this later. I really did like falling asleep with my little guy. He would do funny things like open just the little corner of his eye to make sure I was closing my eyes. We did get a Nemo stuffed animal and Thomas pillowcase for him...so he has someone to snuggle with.

Pictures of coming home from the Outback.

We took the paci away and Delaney taught him how to suck his thumb:)

Wednesday - We got to go out to eat with Gma and Gpa Kenner at Red Robin. We got to see Aunt Becca again. It is always nice to see Gma and Gpa! Wednesday was another sage at bed time...but this time it only lasted one minute. Casey and I both looked at each other and thought...Kenner is a quick study. If only potty training would go this good. I went in to check on the boys before I went to bed and found NOTHING in Kenner's bed. I proceeded to take a look in Patton's crib where I found: every book we own, three pillows, and Kenner and Patton laying beside each other sound asleep. I really wanted to take a picture, but I didn't want to wake them up! It was hillarious!! Kenner needed someone to sleep with him...so if it wasn't mommy it was going to be brother.

Thursday - Mommy had a Pampered Chef party, so Daddy took both boys to Columbus to get a new pickup. That night is a story in itself...so you will have to ask Casey about it if you want to hear more! To make a long story short, we have a blue ford pickup that has a new starter that was installed at 11:00 at night and arrived in Sprague at 2:00 am. Needless to say...Kenner didn't have any trouble going to bed this night.

Friday - We all enjoyed being home and doing nothing. Kenner and I did venture out to get groceries for my PC show that was on Saturday. In order to keep Kenner busy, I got the shopping cart with the truck on it and gave him a box of strawberries. When I handed the empty box with just stems in it to the cashier...she gave me quite the look. I proceeded to say, "Look at my son's shirt and that will answer all your questions.

Saturday - My cousin Carrie had a SPECTACULAR PC show!!!!! It was fun to see all my friends and to see Carrie's new house. We got to go out to eat with Amber, Sarah, Pat, Mom, Kelli and Stacia at Macaroni Grill. It wasn't too eventful except for Kenner eating the cigarette rocks and Patton spilling my mom's spaghetti all over her white pants and PAt's sandals! I believe that cured any thoughts of Amber having children for awhile...sorry Pat!

Sunday - Casey worked the National Guard booth at the Fair and I cleaned our house so that we could have Casey's Uncle, Aunt and cousin from North Carolina, whom I had never met. It was a great time to sit around and talk to them and to Casey's mom Judy. I love having people over...so it was right up my alley:) It was also nice to have a clean house for the start of the week. CAsey requested that if his uncle and aunt get rid of their liscense plate, then they can ship it to us. Casey would like to put it up in his shop. I think it is cool...don't you?

Week of August 13 - 19th

This week was a whirl wind of events and emotions. I had to take the boys to daycare for the first time since May on Monday. I went to say goodbye - thinking that it would be hard for Kenner - and Kenner looked at me and said, "Bye Mom."' and off he went to play. THey have all the toys in the world including a kitchen and jumping castle, so it is reassuring that he is having a good time. My babysitter, Kris, is very good. Here are some pictures from the week:
It was too hot to swim outside, so I thought I would give our new bathtub a try. Kenner loved it but Patton didn't (not a good judger though...because he just wanted to be held and didn't like anything)
Look at our fish! He loved his "indoor swimming pool."
Aunt Becca came over to visit on Sunday! Thanks for playing and eating with us Aunt Becca!
Kenner doing his "lap" swim in our tub downstairs. He would coil himself up on the drain side of the tub and push to the back of the tub. It was fun in the water and even funnier when there wasn't any water in it!
Grandma Carlece got us tickets to go with her Teammates group to the Salt Dog's game. What a good lookin family:)
Look Kenner! There is Homer! Isn't he cute? Kenner?????
KENNER WHERE ARE YOU?
I'm down here Mom! I am terrified of any mascot, so I am content to watch the rest of the baseball game in between my Great Uncle Craig's legs and seat. Daddy and Kenner taking a stroll to the car after a big night at the baseball field. Look I got a new ball. That only makes 56 balls at our house...why not another.
Look at Kenner's big boy bed. I made all of Kenner's (now Patton's) bumper pads, quilt, walhanging (the stars on the wall to the left of the bed) and curtains (that are up). I don't really have the time to make a bed spread to match, so I searched for one close and think that it matches pretty good. Thanks the Grandma Carlece for helping purchase it for Kenner's birthday. There is a side up on the open side, because the first couple days I had to rush upstairs after Kenner had rolled out of the bed. Poor guy. He didn't get hurt. In fact, he would still be asleep when I got up there and just cuddled up with anything that was on the floor beside his bed.

Kenner with he and his brother's otherside of the room. Yes we do have a spare room, so they technically could have two different rooms, but why when they both share the same toys and will have a ton of fun sharing a room.
Bubba on the first day of school. "Momma don't go back to work...can't you get more parties for Pampered Chef so you can stay and play with me and my brother?" I would really like to think that that could happen, but we will see!
Bubba the Banana Man! Patton got his first banana and boy did he destroy it. The glimmer on his chest and body is the left over banana that didn't make his mouth.
Here is brother telling Bubba to look at mom.

Aren't I adorable? You are adorable, but you still can't smile your way out of pulling on the telephone cord and knocking it on yourself or your brother!

My two boys. Aren't they cute? I love this picture and not sure how I got them both to be still for a second next to each other.
Momma's big purchase of $6.00 in the clearance section at Menards! Momma even has gotten in it!
Bubba didn't like it...but he did enjoy just hanging out outside!
My little baby sleeping. I got a lot of pictures of Kenner sleeping, but none of Patton. I also can mention that this is the final picture that you will see any child in the Svitak family with a "paci" We officially have been paci free for 6 days! I have wanted to give in a couple times that they were both screaming their heads off...but instead I went in the other room and read blogs and it helped calm me and them:) SO please DO NOT MENTION PACIFIER around the boys...as it is still a fragile subject, but one that they and I can get through:)

Notes from Grandma's house

August 8th was dooms day for me, as I had to go back to school. We started with kids on the 13th. I can positively say that I have one week down:) My wonderful babysitter had a baby this summer and wasn't able to start watching the boys until the 13th, so my wonderful mother graciously took the boys from Tuesday the 7th to Saturday the 11th. Here are a few notes from their adventures at grandma's house:

Email sent Friday, August 10th:
I thought I would get up early to work on the computer a bit. Kenner was up at 6:30 (went to bed at 8) -so much for alone time. Pat went out to the garage to air up the new floater for swimming for Patton and Kenner discovered the ping pong ball and paddle. We noticed last night that he was sliding and now while working on the computer I am dodging a tennis ball. Our new game is that he throws the ball and I hit it with the paddle. He is a bit confused with all of the sports that he has watched because he says "hike....go!" (***NOTES FROM MOM: he is actually saying "Ready...then you are suppose to say set...then he says GO!****) when he wants me to hit the ball (at least I have some warning of the ball coming). He also likes to hit the ball with the paddle but he mimics the stand of a baseball player.
Since baseball was the last sport that he watched he tends to do more things that he watched in baseball. I just thought you guys would get a kick out of the visual of me trying to type with a paddle in one hand, dodging the tennis ball (he has quite the arm too!).
We have gone to the pool the last 2 days and Kenner is becoming more daring. He went down the slide yesterday with Calicia and nearly removed her top. He also has a shiner from 2 days ago from simply trying to put his head under water (he accidently hit the side of the pool). Patton loves the pool too.

You know when you live in a small town, when...

You know you live in a small town, when you leave your keys in your car at night unlocked and don't think twice about it.

You know you live in a big world, when you wake up on a Saturday morning to find that your truck is gone. So first instincts you travel the town and surrounding areas to try to recall whom you told they could use it for the day. Then after searching for 45 minutes you come home to a blinking red light on the answering machine. The message on the answering machine states: "Hello this is Cindy from Seward County 911 office. I am calling to report that a forest green Chevy pickup is engulfed in flames on a road between Pleasant Dale and Milford. If this is your vehicle please call..."

This message was left on our answering machine this am at 5:30 am! Ugh what to do. So many questions pop through your head and you begin to question the world. Where is the trust in others? Do you continue to trust or do you become paranoid? I have taken the latter this evening. I have locked every lock that can be locked on our house. It is so crazy to think what was going on in the minds of the person or people that took our truck.

We get to visit our loyal truck tomorrow (and hopefully we buy a camera before then) so I will report again on it tomorrow. But for tonight we are safe and sound in our locked little house with two precious boys and a great husband.

When things like this happen, you realize what things are replacable and which ones aren't. Boy am I glad to kiss my three boys good night tonight!

Patton scales the stairs

I watched in amazement as my little baby crawled one stair today at 8 1/2 months. It makes me wonder...had we had a place for Kenner to move...would he have crawled and walked sooner? Boy am I glad that he didn't! Patton has created a deep love for cords and brother's toys these days. I love it when his big brother, Kenner, says, "No Bubba, No!" It is the cutest thing in the world...then brother proceeds to push him over and then mommy says, "No brother, no! time out for you buddy!"

Well today is my last official day of summer...boo! I am quite creative with my different jobs that I potentially could do. Give me your thoughts if it would be a go:
1) Pampered Chef Consultant (without work)
2) Preschool teacher at the Church across the street from our house
3) Machine Quilter (Long armed machines only cost around $13,000...so I must be saving my pennies)

The list goes on. We will see how this Pampered Chef works out. So far I have done pretty well. A nice reminder that if you ever need a quick wedding or birthday gift visit my website www.pamperedchef.biz/letrhidoyourkitchen

Love you all!

No Camera due to Guam...

Well ladies and gents...we have offically went through a digi camera in 2 months! It didn't help to be put in a green Air Force bag and tossed around on the flight from Guam...OUCH! I am now on the look out for another camera that is not quite as disposable. Here are a few pics from Guam of Daddy in his Air Force Adventures From a KC 135 in route to Guam. How beautiful!
Some type of Air Force plane (some wife of an Airman am I :))
Hanging in Guam - I bet Casey is thinking...I wish my family was here...ha ha ha
some type of cool plane...

Casey always has to eat what is most popular in the countries that he visits. Yum yum (yuck!)
