Running the dishwasher

The week between Christmas and new years was a week that we haven't had for a while. We didn't eat one meal at home, not a piece of clothing was washed or if it had been then it wasn't folded nor taken out of the suitcase from the trip prior. I had two boys going to daycare while dropping another off at the YMCA and working a crazy 34 hrs in 3 and a half days. If u know me, you would know that I like routine and schedules....it was crazy. It was only to be followed by another marathon weekend of more family Christmas celebrations. I was so overwhelmed by everything I couldn't get my typical giddy self ready for making great memories w my family.

It is weeks like this one that a person is reminded of the simple things that make me feel like I served my family well. Like the sound of a running dishwasher. This sound means I have a counter clean of dishes. It means I have dirty dishes in which my family I spent getting dirty together, listening to stories of what transpired that day. I was able to be organized enough to cook a meal for my family. Lastly, I know my day the next day will start off just as good as it ended because I have a clean sink to get dirty again. It is crazy how something like the sound of a dishwasher can bring a person a sense of accomplishment. What is your sound?

I will be listening for a new sound tomorrow. Will you? I have found if I listen for sounds then that time isn't spent complaining about the chores involved in the sound I am missing. How is this for deep thoughts? I love having my blog at my fingertips.

Ike is walking

Ike decided today was the day to take across the room on just two legs. Everytime he did it he was sneaky about it and I wasn't able to get the camera out. He is so proud of himself and walks like a pro versus a little boy who just started walking. Tomorrows post will be....Ike is running.

Imomma is back

I cant be more excited about the latest addition to our family.... The I pad. I have never had such good listeners, boys who do things on the first time asking, and quiet time when I really needed it ( when I want Ike to sleep really long). It has been a lot of fun. It almost wants me to cancel our cable as we don't need as many electronics that we have in our family. The debate is still debatable
