where has the time gone

Yes we have been back from Minnesota for a week and 1/2 now...but no time to sit and blog. Sorry folks! Things to do in the next two weeks:

1) Response to Intervention Class - ends June 27 (Ahh got to get that project)
2) Trevor and Kendra's quilt - DONE - YIPPEEE...now waiting for the quilter
3) Trevor and Kendra's photo montage -DUE JULY 5th...in process! Why can't I just make things simple. I guess that isn't how I work. I have to make a huge Hollywood production out of it. It is going to be seen by tons of people!
4) Be a single parent with two boys while Casey is playing Chemical Warfare in the US. (I will take the single parent thing this week:) We miss you!
5) Make a Lightin' McQueen cake for Kenner's bday party on Sunday afternoon (June 29th)...Kenner will be THREE!!!
6) Summer clean my house. It is kind of like nesting before you have a baby. I know I have so much to do, so why not add one more thing to the mix.
7) VBS - DONE I helped with 3 and 4 year olds last week. It was a blast!
8) Mow. Love to do it, but not with two other helpers.
9) Live:)

Sorry no time for blogging...but when I do- do I have the stories for you guys!
Stories to come- Minnesota Vacation, weekend with Aint Cracker in Salina, Patton still a monkey, KENNER IS POTTY TRAINED!!!

Swimming at Em's pool

Kenner was like a fish with Emily in her pool. He wanted her "boat" to be in the pool too. Boat = floating intertube. He LOVED it. He wanted to have goggles just like Emily. BUT he didn't want me to take his picture...maybe because I was laughing so hard I could barely take the picture. Can you blame me? Aren't these pictures hillarious!

What he doesn't know won't hurt him...until later for bribery at least.

Our Baby Idol

Unfortunately we didn't win B 107.3's Baby Idol contest (yes I am completely bummed!!!), but I still think he is one of the cutest boys around. Here he is trying on his tux for Aunt Kendra's wedding...doesn't he look adorable?

Henry Doorly Zoo Visit

Tuesday was Emily's Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY! We took a trip to the zoo. It all began with us pulling up in the parking lot of the zoo to discover that I left the diaper bag and stroller on the porch...so one trip to Family Dollar and $11.00 rental for a stroller we were off. To top that off I had left my camera outside over night...yes it was soaked. So we don't have many pictures because it was barely working...so enjoy! Like Emily said when someone asked us how our trip to the zoo was...Exhausting...BUT FUN!

Our little monkey on the big Gorilla

Kenner making Gorilla sounds...impossible to take a picture with all looking.
It was a bit hot that day, but we sure had a great time!
No that isn't Tarzan in the back...just another guest with his shirt off.

Misc Pics

My sisters and I. Becca was in the middle, but always moves around so we are in correct birth order. I think that Annie looks better than me and she is only 2 months after having a baby where I am 18 months...hmmm! YEAH! Three days before we make a 8 hour trek to Minnesota Kenner decides he wants to wear big boy pants and go potty! For the exception of nap/night times he does well. He especially loves to pee on my flowers. Casey doesn't like it, but I do! He isn't dirtying a diaper and it is reinforcing enough:) Yes you can see his little stream if you look close enough:) HA HA HA
Bubbi puts on his yellow boots...but can't move:)

Aunt Kenny's Bachelorette Party

All clean fun was had at Aunt Kendra's house for her much anticipated Bachelorette Party. We had a night of fun at her house with family and friends. With just a few scary suprises for Kendra...all had fun! We love you Aunt Kendra!
Kendra thinking...I can't believe this story! Like I said above - much love and laughter was shared by all.
Team Jackie
Team Janie

If you want more details...you will have to ask Aunt Kendra:)

AUNT BECCA IS GETTING MARRIED

Off she goes to help her roommate (Mike's sister)...little does she know that Mike is going to propose! Here is the newly engaged couple! Love the ring Mike!
Mike just realized he will be a true and SCHURE UNCLE

We can't wait for the big day and hanging out with you!

Night after the ball game

Thanks to Uncle Craig for making us his specialty baked steak at Aunt Kendra's house! Here we are just hanging out. Bubbi wanting his own ball...a little sunburned but not so bad.
Looks like Kenner sweats like his mom...he was drenched with just playing ball for 25 minutes.

After a big day at the ballpark and at aunt Kendra's we all found our paci's and went to sleep at Kendra's house! (I am pretending of course).

GO HUSKERS

Thanks to Uncle Craig forinviting us to the Big Red Game on Friday! It was fun, but I didn't expect for it to be hot (crazy idea I know). Thanks to the lady beside us for the scumscreen (like Kenner says it) or my children really would have been scorched.

Nothing like a Big Red Game without a Big Red Dog!
Do they look hot? We were! Everyone around us commented on how good the boys were...they really were! Thanks to Emily and Simon for taking Kenner to play at the playground a couple times. Thanks to Bubbi for taking a nap:)

Thanks to the diaper bag so we could sneak in some extra distractors...Sugar Babies! YUM!

First round of Storms...

without Casey. Pictures can't give this night justice. It was 10:30 pm, I am home with the boys, because Casey just left that afternoon for 4 days and Patton was still awake...AND the power goes off. Right before then I was watching the storm and red pockets of storms were popping up everywhere. I decided to make the move downstairs to sleep and to try to find some type of light WITH Mr. Bubbi in tow.

No flashlight to be found so I resorted to candles...easy I THOUGHT! So I lit 6 candles. Those candles would light my path from the boy's bedroom on our 2nd floor to the basement, easy....right?!? I distributed the candles (again with Bubbi in tow behind me...or so I thought) up and down three flights of stairs. I came back from being down stairs and I hear alittle voice going, "Hot mommy Hot." I didn't think anything about it until I turned the corner to see my little Bubbi with a lit candle in his hands below his head (so his head was a-glow) saying, "Hot Mommy Hot" AH! My house isn't going to be blown down it is going to be burnt down!
I moved all the candles up higher (which meant to go up and down three flights of stairs again WITH BUBBI in my arms this TIME). Then I had to get the pack n play, pillows, blankets, and two boys to the basement. All of which were on our 2nd floor. I had already been up and down the stairs 6+ times already...and no electricity means no A/C. Fun times.

So eventually we all made it our way down to the basement without getting burned, hurt by falling, or me dying of exhaustion. Of course I had to run back upstairs for my camera in order to document our night in the sewing room. Thanks to Daddy for making my sewing room so we have a carpeted place to sleep in the stormy weather!

As you can tell from the picture (11:00 by this time) that Patton is no where near sleepy...hence the reason for the pack n play.

You thought this story was done...nope! I am deathly afraid of snakes and we did see one in our basement 2 years ago...so what I am thinking as I settle in for the night...YEP SNAKES! So I knew I had never seen one while working in my room with the light on. But lights weren't an option because no power...so I kept a candle going (I know not a good idea)...but that was only way I could briefly sleep. Fun times!

Memorial Day

It is ritual for our family to go to the cemetary near our house and observe Memorial day. It is a great ceremony and helps us realize how important this day is to observe.
Here is the Color Guard

21 Gun Salute (for those of you that don't know...they don't shoot the guns 21 times independently...instead it is 7 guys shooting 3 times.)
A bugle player pretends to play ...hmmm the name has slipped my mind... TAPS there it is! He has a mini player in his bugle and it does sound pretty good:)
Good bye until next year.
I just love this picture!
When we pulled up Kenner said, Look Mom! Baby Flags! They had a lot of fun being respectful with the flags and of course I documented it with pictures.

Kenner's attempt at saluting the flag. He can't do two things at once...holding the flag up and putting his hand on his head. We will work on it though.

Thanks Dad for helping serve our Country. We love you!
I love you too brother!

Bob and Marilyn, our good friends, invited us over for a Memorial Day BBQ. It was a great time. Many times in our life we just don't take time to just sit around and talk unless it is a funeral or wedding. It was great to have this day to get to sit and talk with friends and not having it fall in between a project to rest.
