Playing ball with Brother

Kenner has really enjoyed playing with his younger brother these days. I used the video portion of our camera to detail the ball throwing game and the game of throwing the ball through the built in hutches from our front room to the dining room...meanwhile knocking down Mommy's houses and trees!!! I uploaded the video on to Youtube...but it didn't come out. I will try again another day. Here is the play by play of playing catch with brother.
Step 1 - Get the ball
Step 2 -(wait my mom has a camera I need to pose) Throw the ball at brother
Step 3 - Clap and say "Yeah" when he catches it! Good Job Brother!

Funniest thing to date!

I can hardly blog this episode...because I am still laughing. Iwill try though. The other night, Casey finally took some time to relax and hang with Patton. So I "snuck" into the other room to get the camera. I had to sneak because Kenner was playing so nicely with his trains on the floor to the right of dad. I didn't want Kenner to notice I was taking a picture...or he would have to be in it. So below is picture #1 (notice no Kenner). I wanted to make sure that I got a good picture so I took another one (you can always delete the ones you don't want). There was not even 2 seconds between the top picture and the bottom picture. I still thought Kenner was happily playing...but as you can see below...he figured out what I snuck off to do and he "popped" his head in the picture.
I am not sure if I can even give this story justice...but I am still laughing!! You can't "sneak" anything by Kenner!

Finding Nemo

Here is the story: Kenner loves Nemo. We have never watched it at our house and I don't believe they have watched it much at daycare...but Delaney (Kenner's girlfriend) LOVES NEMO! She has Nemo shoes, clothes and had a NEMO cake for her birthday. So Kenner has developed a love for Nemo thanks to Delaney (which is fun to hear him say, "Nemo"). Anyway...I got out his Nemo pajama's that Aunt Becca gave him last year. I could only find his shorts, so I went to look for the shirt in his 18-24 month clothing tub. In the time that I went into Kenner's closet, got out his tub of clothes, went through the clothes and turned around...HE HAD CLEANED OUT HIS ENTIRE CLOSET AND PUT IT INTO THE CRIB. That would normally be okay...but I had just put Patton in there, because Kenner decided to tackle Patton and he took a nose dive into the floor. The crib was a cage to protect him from the "big brother." Little did I know that BIG BROTHER could still get him in the crib. I could not believe that about 1 1/2 minutes went by and he had cleaned out everything off his shelves in his closet (except hanging clothes...but they were next) and put it in the crib where Patton was! I was laughing so hard...I could hardly go get the camera! Pictures below depict the scene I came on to:
Patton with a full crib Kenner telling me all about his cleaning adventure...note the level of things in the bed -even with the top of the front side!!!
Kenner posing! He is really into posing for pictures these days!
Kenner showing me his closet after cleaning the bottom shelves!
One last shot of poor Patton! You are such a good sport:)
Story ending: I was not successful in finding the Nemo shirt...so Kenner cleaned out his closet for nothing (except giving Mommy one more thing to clean up!)

Daddy's little helper

Okay...Patton isn't much of a helper. BUT he is cute! Casey has been working non stop on getting our windows trimmed out. We only had 13 windows to do and he had to do them all from scratch...because the window sills didn't make the remodel. As you can see...some one had a keen eye on his father and watched every little move he made. Look how precise his measuring is!
Yes, Kenner has developed the love of power tools just like his dad. Kenner was hillarious! He would watch his dad. This was Casey's routine -
1) Fit the sill on the window
2) Have me continue to hold the sill until Casey could get the drill to drill a hole through the sill
3) Get a screw and a regular screwdriver to screw in the sill.
Kenner got the routine down in one window. Instead of doing step 2, Kenner would just press the button on the drill (because it was too heavy to lift). It made the same sound as Daddy did, then he would continue on to step 3. Kenner was rather good with not dinging the woodwork while he stuck the regular screwdriver into the whole to finish screwing in the screw. It is amazing what things he picks up!

I love using the drill!

Look at his face...if that isn't concentration I don't know what is!

Day at Grandma's

This post should actually be dated:4/26/07. My mom had the boys for a couple days in April because I didn't have a babysitter for a few days...so here is what she had to say one morning...

The day began on a good note (Patton did not get up during the night)........BUT Kenner had messed with the alarm clock so we thought we were getting up at a normal time 6:30 but it was really like 6:00.

Kenner realized that his cheerios expanded so after he dropped his spoon he was eating his cheerios by finger (they fit perfectly on the tip of his finger) one at a time. He also thought this was funny.

Patton put himself to sleep this noon by sucking his thumb (I even took a picture of it).

Mom came over so I could run a few errands. We also put Patton in the clothes basket. Kenner went to town pulling him around. I think Kenner was confused when I told him to say goodbye to g-ma.

Kenner can say g-pa very well.

Patton seems afraid of me. Not sure if it is the glasses, my light hair or just me! He also loves to be held and loves his blanket.

Sassie has completely ruined one of my chair pads and has the living room looking like a tornado. It is almost like she is jealous and does this for attention.

I now understand why you put them to sleep early. I am not sure how you do it Rhiannon or how I did it. Patton reminds me of Andrea as a baby.

I need to get a few more things done before Mr. Kenner wakes up. Patton is being good now.

Mister Fix-It - Like Father Like Son

I don't believe there was anything funnier than this today. I attempted to see what made Kenner's train go, because it hasn't gone from day one. I found the screwdriver and un-did the train. I went to put the train back together, after tending to Patton for a second and I couldn't find it or the screwdriver anywhere. I went out on the porch to see where it might have traveled off to. This is what I found... He wouldn't let me have the train nor the screwdriver...so here is Kenner fixing the train in the lawn.
In the middle of fixing the train, Aunt Becca called. Kenner proceeded to tell her and show her how Daddy dug up the front side walk and Mommy planted the new flowers by putting the phone in the direction of the various projects. It was quite hillarious!

Another funny story today...Kenner was transporting the train tracks from our back room to the front room this afternoon, so Patton and I could play with him. As I was building the tracks, I would tell Kenner that I would need another piece. This kept him busy for about 5 trips. He was getting tired, so I needed one more piece of track. Kenner was tired so he sat down next to me and I said, "I need one more." He proceeded to say, "No (tapped my leg which was folded in front of me) Go" and then pointed for me to go. I am loving his two word combinations these days!!!! I had to get up and get it at that point, because he was so good with communicating. We have only been home one week this summer and have so many stories to tell. I will blog about the Colorado Trip tomorrow during nap time or after they go to bed. Syrup, awful hot tub, and napping with gma...

Choo Choo!

Look at my baby sitting up and playing with his brother! Look at his brother sharing his choo choo's with him. What a nice big brother!
Look Mom! This is how I play choo choo and...
this is how I stay on the tracks, no matter what is on the tracks (note: brother's hand)
Oops! (thought Kenner). My brother did it again...OUCH! (thought Patton)
Wow! He can really sit up in much stress (thought Mommy)

Play time with Patton

I was able to get the camera without either of them looking or falling over (mainly Patton). I snapped one shot, then... Kenner thought he would pose - that is on top of Patton. Who wouldn't love my pacifier boys?!?
Kenner is getting comfy...Patton is saying "GET OFF ME YOU BIG LOAD!"
Kenner is comfy and Patton is now pinching Kenner to get him off his lap. Sorry to inform you Patton...nothing gets to Kenner - but Mommy will stop taking pictures now to relieve you!

Bubbles!!!!!!!!!!!

Mommy finally splurged for some bubble bath and it sure made two boys extremely happy!
Look at Patton actually playing in the water. It is so nice of his big brother to share his toys with his little brother!
Where did the green cup go? I just had it?!?

Our beautiful fenced in back yard and landscaping!

We started on the front and the side landscaping on Mother's Day and the landscaping was done by Graduation for Casey, which was the next weekend. Casey did this retaining wall in a day, while we were in Colorado. Way to go Casey!
Look at our awesome grass!! Yes that is Kenner darting across the picture.
love the fence? I will really love it when there is a latch on the gate...but it really makes our yard and house look complete! Casey (and alittle help from me with the miter saw) did this in one day! What a guy!

Our (to be) beautiful back yard

Happy May Day Everyone

Kenner and I went through the Tender Heart stash of gifts to find the perfect tea for two May Day baskets. No candy you are asking...it was because Mom forgot it was May Day and didn't want to run to the store with two little boys just to get candy:) And we are off!
Kenner decided to take his wagon in the grass...only to find out that it was a much harder tug. Once he got back on the pavement, he was off and running!
Kenner was quite the deliverer. One time I had to stop to get everyone situated before moving on to the next house. We stopped in front of another house (that was not going to be recieving a May Day basket) and Kenner got a basket out and was ready to take it to the front door. What a smart guy:) Happy May Day!

laundry room and trim

The laundy room floor, before it was done. Look...a door and trim! My husband is quite amazing...this house, a full time job, getting his Bachelor's degree in May, and a great dad!

Sharing a room

Kenner took it upon himself to help me move Patton's pack and play (crib) into his room last night, because he didn't want to sleep by himself anymore. I slept very well last night, as well as the boys! In fact they are still sleeping...so I better get going!

Our bathroom is finally looking like a bathroom!

This picture was taken before the tub was cleaned and after Kenner was able to play in a while...note his favorite toy left in there.
This is after Cepek Custom Services taped, mudded, stained, and coated the floors. Don't they look amazing? It is finally looking like a bathroom. The other side of the tub will have the same design. Casey has it in the garage. He did that so that he would be able to get to the jets underneath if they had any trouble with it.
Our vanity will go by the window and shower.
