BLOG POLL:

When was the last time you made Rice Krispies?

It has been forever since I have actually made them. It has even maybe been 3 years since Kenner was born!!?!? Here are my two helpers making them with me.

First the butter (I won't normally put it in or that much...but Kenner looked at the great pictures on the box and it said to have butter!)
Marshmellows...try before you put in I guess
The rest of the marshmellows...hey Kenner are you playing "fluffy bunny?"
Taste test...mmmm
Bubb had to get his way into the process by mixing up the mix.
I thought this was a big enough mess for my kitchen...little did I know that about 35 minutes later that Bubbi would decide we didn't have a big enough mess and...(read previous post)

Landscaping...check!

Here is a pic of my freshly painted propane tank. Don't you think it looks better than THIS? I am finally done with landscaping around our house. Thanks to end of the year sales this year and last we were able to get it all done at a fraction of the cost of having a professional landscaping company:)

Thanks to the end of the year sales you never know what you are going to get. I have waiting 1 1/2 years for these to bloom so that I could tell if the tags were correct....hmmm Do they look like Chicago Red Day Lillies...me neither! DARN! Oh well they are pretty!
Last year's landscaping job and coming up even better this year!

Anyone remember this post from May 07 ?
We have come a long way! Look at our great hostas and strawberries! We loved picking from them this year:)

Now for the last and final landscaping project that has me completely baffled...what to do with the propane tank and the weed garden we have around it. Ideas already suggested and I am still mulling over them:
Plant a climbing flower over the tank
Plant rose bushes around it
take the flower bed from in front of the wooden post (so we don't have to weed eat it) and take it around the propane tank to...
...the garden so it is all attached. As you can see it is just plain old weeds up until the place I tilled and Preened for my garden.

WANTED: Plastic Bags

For those of you reading within the vicinity of my house...SAVE YOUR plastic bags from stores. Keep some for yourself and please give the rest to me. The cooler and more colored/designed the better.

My Aunt and I are going to have a melting retreat in a couple weeks, so we need as many bags as possible.

You can just put them on my doorstep or leave a comment and we can decide where to pick them up!

Thanks - The Rhi-cycling Crew

Funny comments

I was just looking through blogs as the boys are crawling all over my chair and Kenner was getting into the printer, so I naturally said, "NO KENNER!" I went to a different blog and Kenner saw a boy. He said, "That boy is sad like me." I said why? He said, "Because you said, No Kenner" in a sad voice. It was rather hillarious

Kenner has a memory like no other. Today we were driving out of Lincoln on Satillo Rd (sp?) and went over the RR tracks by 27th street and Kenner said, Look Mommy a Train and now a sad raccoon. I had to laugh because we were coming home a WEEK AGO on this SAME road and spot in the road when Kenner said, Look Mommy a train and I said Oh no and swerved to miss a sad little raccoon that had just gotten hit and was attempting to drag himself off the road. What a memory!

Well the boys need to go to bed...I better too! I get to work tomorrow:)

Happy Anniversary Casey

The morning of my Aunt Kendra's wedding I couldn't sleep, so when a can't sleep you might as well get up and do something. So at 5:05 am I cleaned out Casey's car and made a cherry pie for our anniversary. I thought that I would find a digi pic of our wedding...crazy thought - we didn't have a digital camera back then!!! ONLY 5 years ago!

It has been a fun 5 years! Love you Casey

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone! With the wedding and attempting to have alone time without the big crowds we stayed home and had a great time. We went over to our neighbor's, Matt and Melissa's house and grilled, blew bubbles, played baseball, had a melt down and went home:)

Our friend's baby, Titus! He was the only one that would hold a flag for me. Thanks Titus...you look so cute I wish my boys would have done that:)
Cool pic don't you think?

Bubbles bubbles bubbles! (enough said)
Here is the BIG guy batting. He has quite the swing, just ask Bubbi!

My Garden

You will find out from my previous posts that I had may hands full with many things...but not full enough. I decided to finish landscaping our yard and plant a garden this year. Here is my garden:

14 tomato plants (various big tomato kinds)

Several onions

.

1 cucumber plant (from my grandpa Jimmy)

Several various pepper plants

I call it my salsa garden. I didn't initially intend to have such a big garden, so if you are driving through town stop by Kenner and Patton's garden stand (in a few weeks) to help support their swing set fund:)

I have been very lucky to have a "snake" free garden (which I know that I am writing this that they are all slithering their way over there. I am not snake free this year though. I did have a slimy friend find me while mowing. Instead of screaming shutting the mower off and running inside for the next three days, I (with some self talk of "You are bigger than that silly snake) tried to run it over several times. All of which I think the snake did not succumb to the blades and get chopped up. I do believe it left me a ransom note in his skin though and a direct arrow as where to find him the next time I want to try to end his life:) He left this on my sidewalk right before you step on my deck...game is on SNAKE!

Boy's first wedding

I hope to get time tonight to finish my posting and get up to date on my blog, but I started a blog for my Aunt Kendra and NEW UNCLE TREVOR on the 4th. The boys were ring bearers...so check out their blog *which was made by me:) Thanks to guidance from my cousin Astraea who has the Announce This website

To do this week: COMPLETED

Sorry for not blogging for a long time. I chose to fill my time by:
helping Kendra and Trevor get ready for their big day
with putting together a video for Kendra and Trevor's wedding, finished my "Tie the knot" quilt for Kendra and Trevor (as seen in the backof this picture)
and finally...spraying my propane tank. WOW does it look better! I will try to take a picture of that later!
Oh how can I forget...starting a new adventure with my Aunt Jane - making things out of melted recycled plastic bags. This bag was from Super Saver and Walmart bags...what do you think?

Zoo with Delany and Emery

We were able to go to the Zoo with Delany, Emery, and Kris (our babysitter and her two kids) on Wed 7/2. We had a blast. Emily was there to help us out too. As you can tell from the pictures they learned a lot. Like:
Pulling two heavy weights in one wagon is easier than putting them each in their own wheels with their siblings. My stroller does well with lighter loads...Bubbi isn't so much of a light load any more. Isn't Emery cute?
Bubbi knew the goats from a previous trip and showed everyone up with feeding the goats without hesitation!

Delaney getting up the courage (or Kris holding it up there) to finally feed a goat.
Bubbi is not shy around those goats! Kenner took a lesson from Delaney and found the courage to do the same. He told everyone about this for three days!
Emery followed in Bubbi's footsteps and had no problem! She even tried one herself!
Be nice! Look at them without any hesitation! GOOD JOB

Kenner and Delaney getting their first and last (of any real) tatoos together.
Mommy can we go in the pool too?
Sorry the seals live there!
