DPP 9

Paper, paper...where thou art paper?
I have finally gotten up enough energy to look through the paper for grocery deals...but I would need a paper first. I have been extremely blessed to have two snow days and a shortened day to not count against my sick days! Praise the Lord!

DPP 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

View from the couch. Due to my inability to move from the couch without a lot of pain...this was my view of life for three days straight.

DPP 3

After a doctor's appt for a potentially blocked bowel, then a trip to ER and a CAT scan revealed a blackened ovary and a ruptured cyst. Then resulted in emergency surgery so I didn't lose any more blood. Thanks to all the prayers, thoughts, meals, and help with my family. I appreciate it so much!

DPP 2

World's greatest kept secret - Rhode's Cinnamon Rolls. The boys went home with my mom, so my hubby and I enjoyed a breakfast together. Peaceful, but not as much fun when there isn't a frosting mess to clean up everywhere

December Photo Project Day 1

Catch up - This is a post of photos from the last month (November). Bikes, Birthday, and Boys:)
Thanks cousin Rachel and Sarah for taking the boys on the horses. They LOVED it. Also thanks for great weather in North Dakota at the end of November to be able to enjoy ourselves without hats and mittens:)
Kenner the cowboy Patton was very unsure at first. Every time Rachel tried talking to him he looked like he wanted to cry. Everytime I said, 'Hi Bubbi" he put on a fake smile then began to enjoy it:)

Ride em boys!
The riding crew - Thanks again!
Great Grandpa Cuyler reading to the boys.
Mommy and Fuzz in North Dakota The Colwell grandchildren and three great grand children. It was a ton o fun!

Patton's birthday present...Rocky the Robot Dump Truck. AWESOME!
Kenner being the big helper with a cedar closet for Mom. Exercising with mom's P90X. I can say that my friend Patty and I finished 90 days of workouts. I technically didn't make it all 90 days, but I was close. We are continuing to work out everyday afterschool. We have brushed off the old workout tapes everyone has at school and are using them for a workout now. Fun times! Fun in the leaves.
Look at that height!

Kenner is in this pile...again a game of friendly tackle.
Note: these were the last pictures of Kenner with all his teeth. He had fallen and hurt his front tooth a year ago, but another accident at school with a wooden
Here's Fuththth (aka Fuzz)
Their favorite game: Tackle. No football needed

Blog revived

Well I have been knee deep in couponing and living life without documenting. I went to do some Christmas presents and needed to reference what we did in October...and well I didn't have any documentation on my only source...my blog. I LOVED the December photo project last year that is sponsored by a friend of mine, so I decided to give my blog a boost and start to document things on here again.

I am pretty sure I don't have many readers, but this blog's purpose is to help me remember all those little funny moments the boys and our family has, so that some time in life I will be able to compile all of them for a book or something:)

Here's to a revival of my blog (list of grocery ads will still be included but won't be the only thing) and December Photo Project

Pray for Baby Olivia

Please take time to pray for my baby cousin Olivia and her Mom, Amy and Dad, Curtis. A week ago baby Olivia had surgery to repair her tethered spine, which went well. She came home, then got sick. They think she has menigitis and is in Intensive Care at Children's hospital. She is stable, but very lethargic and on lots of medicine. The doctors are caring for baby Olivia so continue to pray for their knowledge, but also pray for strength for her mom and dad.

Bedtime stories

Bed time has been quite hillarious in our home these days. For some reason the boys do not like it if Casey or myself come down stairs after reading the boys a book, tickling their back and singing them a song. Many times we hear, "COME BACK UPSTAIRS" yelled from the top of the stairs from our soft spoken Bubbi.

Patton has been getting in trouble at school for tackling and also telling the teachers no. Hmmm...not sure if watching NU football and this next story has anything to do with it.

Casey had just come down stairs from putting the boys to bed (not asleep) and we hear Patton yell from his bed (at the top of his lungs I might add), "STAY UP HERE!" (repeat 4 times) "STAY UP HERE, I SAID." Kenner proceeds to say, "You are waking me up Bubbi, be quiet." Hmm waking him up? Casey had just walked down the stairs. I can see that maybe sharing a bedroom might not be the best choice in the future:) Learning how to share even ear space:)

Patton has also been yelling at the top of his lungs, "I AM DOING IT." After Casey and I have told him 3+ times to do something like pick up his toys. No it isn't respectful (we are working on it), but both CAsey and I laugh before teaching respect...because the yelling comes from the bottom most portion of his stomach and is very loud. It is something you have to hear:)

We are on the mend from bronchitits (Casey), sinus infections (boys), and lost voice (mom). CAsey has also had a couple nice days to do siding. Casey, Kenner and myself helped yesterday. Of course, Casey had to stop and take a break (due to him not feeling well). Poor guy doesn't feel that he can rest (I promise I am not pushing him out there!)

Have a great week.

Frugal friends is back

Weekly Groceries 10/14/09

I took a couple weeks break from posting on the blog in order to catch up on other things in life...or catch on to...my boys that is. Casey has been doing so much with the boys lately. I love to just sit back and watch how good of a dad he is:) Unfortunately I am not able to sit with a camera, because my camera is on the fritz.

I had a great night at the grocery store:) Gotta love ad matching and getting things cheap:)

Love you all - Rhi

New Carpet

Casey won...and so did the rest of us. I was on a carpet ban in our house. I LOVE wood floors. I pulled up the carpet in our back room when we remodeled it 3 years ago. We never did anything with the floor, so they were a bit rough. Casey has begged and begged for carpet. He finally sold me on it (it was on sale:)). We love it...but I am not about ready to carpet the rest of the house. What do you think?

The Boys love it!

300th Sellout

The 300th Sellout was suppose to be a date night for Mommy and Daddy, but with the craziness of our lives...Daddy opted out to take a nap and Mommy and Kenner had a date night with Gma and Gpa Kenner instead. THese pictures are posted in reverse order!
Kenner and Gpa walking home from the game. (note: you were suppose to wear clothes from the 60's...Gpa fit the part well!) Kenner got a jersey...his first jersey. He looks so old with it on!
Kenner got a hot dog from the flying hot dog man!!! (Actually the woman in front of us got it, but she gave it to him!!!)

Gma and Gpa!

Crazy September Times

Kenner decided to open the new package of Swiffer and clean the floor for me. I find it rather hillarious that they learn so much from just learning. For example, not pictured, Patton making his own trash cake. I had just taken out the trash (so no new trash bag), Patton proceeded to use all the ingredients I had left on the counter to make his own trash cake. He knew I threw away the shells...but he didn't observe me crack them and use the insides first. When I came back in from the trip to the trash can outside...he had 10 eggs in the trash and sugar all over the floor...NICE! Funny boys! Another trip to Menard's. This one was for carpet for our back room...yes Daddy won!
Notice Casey's new flag pole? Yes we bought that for our last house...so if you do the math we have stored it for 5+ years. I bet we saved money buying and storing it:) The reason I took this picture was for the cone in the street. Casey and I bought cones for the boys so they could ride bikes on the streets of Sprague. Yes Sprague is a SMALL town with a lot of stop signs, but some how even the police that refill their cars in Sprague aren't aware of the stop signs. It has slowed traffice down or made more people aware that our two boys are out on their bikes. The rule was that Dad or Mom would set them out in the street, because this meant we gave our permission to ride in the street and we were watching them. The boys decided to take it upon themselves to put them in the street and give themselves permission to ride. (BEEP...means next slide please)

(Next Slide) No they weren't riding their bikes...instead Kenner was pushing Patton in the broken tractor. They found it in the garage. Note: It doesn't move by itself. Kenner pushed his brother from the garage to the front yard and back. What a nice big brother!
I was talking with Aunt Annie while this was happening...so funny!

The boys' first (and last) lunchable experience. There wasn't anything wrong with the .49 lunchable, but the amount of trash left after everything was consumed was INCREDIBLE!!! YIKES!!! No wonder we have so much trash. Next time we will make our homemade lunchable and have just as much fun.

More August Fun

I love this picture of Patton. He was so excited to see the marching band...such a cheese ball! We got to ride in the back of the pick up from the parking lot of Menards to the back lot. CRAZIE I know:)
I also like these next two pictures...they capture NU football at it's best!

Waving hands after a touch down.
Mommy and the boys!
