Mommy's New Sewing Room

Kenner being a big help and helping Mommy carry in the groceries after a trip to Sam's. What a big helper! I was almost in tears to see how much he was grunting and wanting to help me! When he couldn't lift something he would tell me sorry Mommy too heavy! There he goes again!
What a big helper!

Daddy putting the finishing touches on my sewing room with the ceiling. It truly doesn't look like it belongs in our basement!

Mommy's sewing room without a ceiling!
The hard working, handy husband that has worked tirelessly on this project. It only took him 3 weeks and in that time was Christmas and New Years! He also worked full time:)

Playing peek a boo with mommie! Kenner andPatton sleeping together! I find it hillarious that neither can sleep without each other!

I wonder why someone had diaherrha last week after eating a whole carton of choc covered cherries!

Want one Mommy?
Jane and Casie stopped over on their trip back to Nebraska. I made supper and Becca made dessert. Grandma Jan thought she was sharing her cheesecake...little did she know that...
She would merely be the seat in which Kenner sat to eat HIS cheesecake.
Yum Yum Becca!

Grandpa Jimmy didn't have to share, because Bubbi had his paci

Hanging out at the Svitak's house.
Play ball with Cousin Casie with Bubbi and Kenner

Aunt Becca thought this would be a good way to keep Kenner out of things while I clean...just kidding Aunt Becca! We thought it was funny. Thanks to Aunt Becca, Kenner got to go Hebron and watch Uncle KK play ball!

HIT 1000!!!

Wow! It is amazing how many hits I have had on my blog! Thanks to all of you that check it so often. It is one of my resolutions to keep it more up to date...for you and for me. I am attempting to put 210 pictures in to photo albums times 2 (one for PAtton and one for Kenner) without my blog...I would be completely lost.

If you don't have one...they are very easy and great to keep your life on the "books." My sister Annie just started one! Way to go Annie!

Happy New Year!

The boys had to go out on a bang this year...without a NAP! Good thing that they stayed up until 9:00 boy was it a fun day!

Thanks to Aunt Ashley and Grandma Judy for coming and helping me ring in the new year. Casey didn't stay up with the gals...we sure had a good time. Sorry no pictures!! :(

We got to open the game of Curses. A must have game for those late night giggles!! We had Judy crying with laughter and not able to wipe her tears away because her curse was that she had 1 inch arms and her wrists were attached to her chest. It was utterly hillarious!!

Well I better get to bed, but wanted to blog about a great time had by all. Thanks Judy and Ashley for coming to our house! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A present for Mommy

Daddy thought that he hasn't had to use the nail gun for a month...so he created a new project:
A sewing/craft room from me! Here are a few pictures of Dad and Kenner building the room for me. We have quite a few things in our basement...but I am hoping that with a sewing/craft room for myself that we can start to de-clutter our basement. I did do a "clean sweep" the past week and re-organized it...but it sure doesn't look like it. The drywall is up and one coat of mud is on it already. Now off to researching the best craft room supplies:) My future sewing room. Comes with a play area for the boys!

THe rest of our basement.

Silence...what are they doing?

I was busily trying to put away the 7+ loads of laundry after our week long trek around Nebrasks for the holidays and noticed that the boys were silent. I first thought, "Isn't that nice that they are both playing in their room" but it was too quiet. I surpassed their bedroom door when I heard laughter come from the bathroom. To my suprise...this is what I found. In case you haven't washed your hair for a while, here are the steps as demonstrated very nicely by my two boys.
Step one (demonstrated by Patton) pump out the shampoo until you have an entire hand full.
Step 2 (Kenner is the demonstrator) rub in hands until you have a nice lather. Step three (both demonstrating beautifully): allow your brother to lather it into your hair.

Note: In order to get this much lather, one must repeat the steps several times.
ALSO note that Kenner does not have a drop of shampoo in his hair...at this point.
I proceeded to take Bubbi to the sink and put his head under it to rinse it out. Due to 1/4 of the big shampoo bottle in his hair, it took me a few minutes. Just enough time for...

Kenner to lather his hair also! Ugh! It was funny though. Good thing I had just gone to the store and bought some back up shampoo and conditioner...just in case:)

Now all clean...Bubbi is sporting his first hoodie and a NU hoodie!

Christmas in Hebron

Hanging out at Great Gpa and Gma's house! Love the shades Kenner! This is a hat the Jan made for Kenner, but Patton has really gotten some good use out of it as well!
This hat Grandma Jan made for Kenner, but a different size. She also made one for a teddy bear...which is where it his one came from. The first thing he does when goes to their house is get the bear out of the chair, strip him of his hat and put it on. This time he got some help from his dad to put on Jimmy's gloves...nice look Kenner.
Svitak family again. Sorry the boys don't have nicer clothes on. I thought I would wait until after we had the raspberry jello to put on their nice Christmas clothing...but it was too late. We were all too tired and forgot about it.
Patton jumping on Great Gpa Jimmy on Christmas morning.
Christmas was great this year. Casey and I got away with giving the boys NEMO fruit snacks, and the fridge farm phonics. We did get spoiled by everyone else, but thought we could save our money and stock up for next year, when Kenner will really know the ropes about Santa and all that jazz. We got to stay at Jim and Jan's house, because my parent's house is under a bit of construction (they caught the fever from us). It was nice. I am sorry that I don't have any pictures from anywhere else...as I was too busy playing Wiedel-Opoly with Grandpa Roger. It was a ton of fun! Merry Christmas!

Christmas in Aurora

Patton is sitting on Dennis's rocking horse from when he was little. It is just amazing that last year Patton was just a month old and now look at him... Isn't that nice? Patton is thinking...who let this lard on here? Iwas having a good time by myself!
The Svitak family! Someone somewhere this Christmas said to me, "Boy you sure got your family in no time." I never thought about having a family of four:) That is a nice thought. Some how I always think - 2 boys 15 months apart...AHHH!
Uncle Levi and Aunt Lucy with Patton and Kenner
Kenner and Levi laughing histerically at Levi's new "Snap Circuit" activity. Kenner loved when the fan hit the ceiling.

Look who is walking all over the place. I do believe Patton was a "closet" walker. He is able to get up in the middle of the room and walk...not a typical "beginning" walker. I do believe that he crammed while in the comfort of his own room while alone in order to gain the confidence to walk without fear of being plowed over by his big brother! Kenner the big helper...setting the table.
Lucy made Casey a cherry pie and me a peach pie for our birthdays (yes mine was in August...but it is the thought that counts:)) Kenner took a liking or licking to Lucy's peach pie filling. First he loved the pie, then...
he went for the left over filling on one plate, then
three more! Thanks Lu for the great pies...right Kenner?

SNOW DAY!

The boys and I got to stay home for our first snow day this school year...YIPPPEEEE!! I was coming down with bit of a cabin fever...so I thought we could venture out to the post office, which was only a block away. It was like we lived on a lake with the 2-3 inch ice that was plastered over everything. I got out the SUV stroller made for one and snuggled my two little bugs in it. It was a fun time! Kenner and Patton enjoyed waving at Daddy as he was cleaning the sidewalk with his new "Bobcat" toy outside. The boys were having such a great time! I could have just sat there and listened to their laughter all day long!
Bubbi got some play time with Bullseye. Bullseye...poor dog, often gets the last minute of my time every other week. She loved being able to come and play with the boys...or should I just say boy. Kenner didn't like him very well.

I am not sure if I have had the opportunity to blog about our bed situation. Yes Kenner does have a big boy bed, but he would prefer to cuddle with his little brother in his crib. Yes I did say crib! Kenner often reads Patton a story or two after we put them to bed. We try to put Kenner in his big bed, but we often find Kenner in Patton's bed in the morning. I think I can recall a few three sisters that all slept in the same bed when we were little...right Becca and Annie?
