First Pampered Chef Party

A HUGE thank you to Jennifer Wagner for letting me be apart of her Home Interiors Party and to allow me to begin my business with a bang. There were around 10 people at the party and both the HI and I did over $200 in business! Woo Hoo! I did a Chocolate Tirmisu (sp?) Torte, Elegant Articoke Cups, a Savory Dip for veggies/crackers, and tea in the Quick Stir Pitcher.

It was a lot of fun and it was amazing how useful all the pampered chef things are! I really loved doing it...but realized that I may want to practice the recipe before I go. For the number one reason being...being able to sell the product as you make it rather than trying to read the recipe, sell the products, and answering questions/get the people interactive! I would call this first experience a success!

My friend Jenn is going to be getting into Uppercase Living. Look it up on line if you want. It is some great things for your home also!

Well the count down in on until the boys come back. I can't wait to see my big birthday boy tomorrow...although he has already opened all of his gifts:) I have quite the list of things to do before I get them tomorrow...but God has been very gracious in allowing me to get my things done. He has given me three BEAUTIFUL DRY days in order for me to stain, varnish, and clean all the trim and windows. He has given Casey the patience and the forgiveness to pardon me from my ENORMOUS mishap with the stain and the countless sheets of sand paper to cover my mess with the wood filler and 60 grit sand paper. Well it is T minus 22 hours until the boys get home and I need to go scrap some varnish off the windows so that I can put the windows in before I go to bed...so I can get up refreshed to clean the upstairs and put it together!

*if time I will post some pictures of our upstairs after the windows are in! Have a great Friday!

Bathroom blinds

Wow! It is amazing what little things excite me these days. I figured out how to get our blinds within the window to work and I got to CLEAN OUR SHOWER upstairs. I felt so proud to be the first one to use the shower head to clean our shower!!! I also got the privledge to clean our new bathtub. Our bathroom is looking amazing!!! The windows are in, scrapped clean of all stain and varnish and cleaned! It is so fun to see it almost done. I am hoping we can finish the rest this weekend.

I didn't have any huge catastrophe happen tonight (like last night and the stain everywhere!)...so I better hit the sack before something does happen. I have my first Pampered Chef party tomorrow, last day of SUMMER SCHOOL!!!!!!!, and I have to put two coats of varnish on the rest of the woodwork (one before I go to school) and one after school or party. This will put me on the timeline of scraping and cleaning the windows on Friday am so that I can put the windows back, clean the upstairs, and get it back for my two little boys to come home! THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO THIS WITH THE BOYS HERE! I WOULD HAVE HAD MORE THAN THE FLOOR AND BED SKIRT STAINED!!!! Thank God for all the family I have!!!

Well it is 1:15 and I need to get to bed...but for all of you that check this blog everyday (Kendra, Annie, Astrea and crew)...have a great day! Love you!

Remodeling woes and stained toes

Many thanks to my mom and Kendra! My mom has my two boys for a couple days and Kendra came and cleaned our house tonight, while I continued to sand, stain, and varnish our upstairs. We are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO close to "flipping" our house. The bathroom went from 95% to 97% done today. Our bedrooms are not coming as quickly...due to the entire can of stain falling off of the ladder and on to our floors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything has gone somewhat well with the trim upstairs, besides me using 60 grit sand paper and having to hand sand for hours in order to redo my 60 grit sanding before! UGH After the sanding was finished...I started to stain and varnish. The bathroom and the end bedroom windows are finished!!! YIPPEEE. I stained the windows in Kenner/Patton's room and our bedroom and left the stain can open on the ladder. I answered the phone, went downstairs, then started to talk to Kendra, said goodbye to Kendra and then thought...I need to book it! I have a lot to get done tonight. I tore into the bedroom where the ladder was (because I needed to take tape off the walls in the bathroom) and grabbed the ladder. I suddenly realized that the can of stain was on the ladder and now on my floor, on my feet, on our walls, under our bed, in our rocking chair, on the bed skirt and THANK GOODNESS NOT ON OUR BED (which was within inches of hitting).

I was unable to save the bed skirt..but will be looking for similar material to make a new side to the skirt. The stain did come out of the wall...for now, and I got it all off the floor!

Ugh! It was a great reminder that no one is perfect except God and even when I want to acheive it or think I am achieving it...he graciously reminds me that I am not!

Love you all and good night. Nigh-Night Bubba's

Change of Plan for B-day Celebration

We won't be having Kenner's birthday party on Friday as originally planned due to scheduling dificulties. We will be helping Jasa celebrate her birthday on Friday at noon and we will have Kenner's birthday sometime in the near future. Jasa's daddy couldn't be there at night and Kenner's daddy couldn't be there at noon...and since Kenner's daddy missed his first birthday because he was overseas...we wanted to make sure Daddy was able to be at his 2nd birthday party.

I will keep you posted when his party will be...I am thinking Sunday afternoon at Val's on 27th and Hwy 2. There is a play place in it, so Kenner can go and play.

Saltdogs and the Chicken

The Famous Chicken. At one point in the game, he had his little chicks come out with him! The Chicken told his chicks to "pee" on the umpires leg...it was so funny!

Jasa and Kenner's Birthday

You are invited to come celebrate Kenner's 2nd and Jasa's 4th birthday with us next Friday, June 29th. I hear they are both on the move...Kenner with his trains and Jasa on her new bike. We are going to celebrate with supper, cake, and fun times at Kurk and Kris's house next Friday at 7:00.

Hope to see you there!

Pampered Chef Lady

Yes, yes I may be crazy...but I am going to have fun being crazy. I have decided to be a Pampered Chef lady for several reasons. The top two being: making some extra cash in order to remodel our kitchen and to spend some time with other adults. I will continue to work as an SLP at Crete next year. I get to play all day with preschool, Kindergarten and 1st grade, and some of our severe kids (which are some of my favorite). I will go from a case load of 70-73 to around 40-50...which is much more managable.!

If you know of anyone that needs products or you want to have a show in your home...please let me know. I am in need of three other people to have a show for me...I need 4 to get started and thanks to Becca I only need 3.

Love you all and Good night!

Kenner's 2nd BDay

Hello everyone - I am still debating on where to have Kenner's big party. I will have it figured out by tomorrow night. It will definitely be on his actual birthday, next Friday, June 29th. If you have any grand ideas...let me know.

Kenner and new words

Kenner's face is back. Anyone remember certain face when you mentioned ice cream? Well now all you have to say is Grapes...or have him say them and he is all about loving grapes! I love to test my Speech/Language knowledge on Kenner. He is doing well expanding his expressive vocabulary and is doing quite well at putting two word utterances together. Boy do I have a rocket scientist on my hands:) or an interpreter for the deaf, because he continues to learn more sign. Kenner attempted to show Patton how to sign for more tonight and I about fell out of my chair, which Kenner and Patton were on my lap! Another funny Kenner story, I came into Lexie's house (7th grader watching the boys during my summer school) and Kenner was sitting at the table eating a snack. He proceeded to mumble all these words immediatetly to me and act out something. Lexie's mom, Diane, interpreted it to me that yes he did drop his drink on the floor over there (which he motioned over there) and then it went all over here (as Kenner is motioning over here). He is quite the story teller!
Patton is such a peach! He really does love for Mommy to put him to sleep and I don't mind cuddlying with him. He is really able to hold his own when it comes to sitting up while brother is on the floor with him too.

Curtis and Amy's wedding

Grandpa...nice shades? I think he may have gotten a little flash frightened which caused him to get a little crazy downstairs waiting for the wedding to start. Nope, nope I was wrong... Casey and Cory are always behind something!
Grandpa and Jeri switched glasses. As Jeri stated: These glasses are in style now...except for teh prescription:) The next good time to be had - November - Cory and Jeri's wedding! We can't wait to blog about that one!

Was Curtis Unsure and has he gone crazy?

Once I arrived at the church for the rehersal, I found Curtis waiting in the hallway outside the... Divorce Care room. Curtis were you trying to tell us something then? I really do love Amy...so maybe you went off your rocker.
The next pictures prove the point of - Curtis (and Rog) GONE WILD!
Like father like son...Curtis you are only joking right?

Love you Curtis and Grandpa! Thanks for playing along!!! They sure make a fun picture for the scrapbook of your wedding:)

Curtis and Amy's Wedding cont.

These pictures are from the rehersal dinner. Thanks Curtis and Amy for the great gift! What fun it is to play with my cousins! Uncle Kevin and Lee's little boy. I loved this picture! There could be some type of saying with this in a Hallmark card, but I am not too creative this am!
My best buddy in the world- my cousin Simon! Thanks Simon for all your help this weekend. If you want to come stay for a while at our house...the door is always open.
Kenner was strong enough to even lift the 15 pound balls all by himself and immediately drop them on the floor below. I am not sure how he missed his feet every time. Kenner is quite the bumper bowler!
Grandma Carlece and Kenner got room service the morning of the wedding. It was a first for both of them. Thanks to my mom also for helping me out! I would have been even more shredded if it wasn't for her help. Love you mom!

Playing ball with Brother

Kenner has really enjoyed playing with his younger brother these days. I used the video portion of our camera to detail the ball throwing game and the game of throwing the ball through the built in hutches from our front room to the dining room...meanwhile knocking down Mommy's houses and trees!!! I uploaded the video on to Youtube...but it didn't come out. I will try again another day. Here is the play by play of playing catch with brother.
Step 1 - Get the ball
Step 2 -(wait my mom has a camera I need to pose) Throw the ball at brother
Step 3 - Clap and say "Yeah" when he catches it! Good Job Brother!

Funniest thing to date!

I can hardly blog this episode...because I am still laughing. Iwill try though. The other night, Casey finally took some time to relax and hang with Patton. So I "snuck" into the other room to get the camera. I had to sneak because Kenner was playing so nicely with his trains on the floor to the right of dad. I didn't want Kenner to notice I was taking a picture...or he would have to be in it. So below is picture #1 (notice no Kenner). I wanted to make sure that I got a good picture so I took another one (you can always delete the ones you don't want). There was not even 2 seconds between the top picture and the bottom picture. I still thought Kenner was happily playing...but as you can see below...he figured out what I snuck off to do and he "popped" his head in the picture.
I am not sure if I can even give this story justice...but I am still laughing!! You can't "sneak" anything by Kenner!

Finding Nemo

Here is the story: Kenner loves Nemo. We have never watched it at our house and I don't believe they have watched it much at daycare...but Delaney (Kenner's girlfriend) LOVES NEMO! She has Nemo shoes, clothes and had a NEMO cake for her birthday. So Kenner has developed a love for Nemo thanks to Delaney (which is fun to hear him say, "Nemo"). Anyway...I got out his Nemo pajama's that Aunt Becca gave him last year. I could only find his shorts, so I went to look for the shirt in his 18-24 month clothing tub. In the time that I went into Kenner's closet, got out his tub of clothes, went through the clothes and turned around...HE HAD CLEANED OUT HIS ENTIRE CLOSET AND PUT IT INTO THE CRIB. That would normally be okay...but I had just put Patton in there, because Kenner decided to tackle Patton and he took a nose dive into the floor. The crib was a cage to protect him from the "big brother." Little did I know that BIG BROTHER could still get him in the crib. I could not believe that about 1 1/2 minutes went by and he had cleaned out everything off his shelves in his closet (except hanging clothes...but they were next) and put it in the crib where Patton was! I was laughing so hard...I could hardly go get the camera! Pictures below depict the scene I came on to:
Patton with a full crib Kenner telling me all about his cleaning adventure...note the level of things in the bed -even with the top of the front side!!!
Kenner posing! He is really into posing for pictures these days!
Kenner showing me his closet after cleaning the bottom shelves!
One last shot of poor Patton! You are such a good sport:)
Story ending: I was not successful in finding the Nemo shirt...so Kenner cleaned out his closet for nothing (except giving Mommy one more thing to clean up!)

Daddy's little helper

Okay...Patton isn't much of a helper. BUT he is cute! Casey has been working non stop on getting our windows trimmed out. We only had 13 windows to do and he had to do them all from scratch...because the window sills didn't make the remodel. As you can see...some one had a keen eye on his father and watched every little move he made. Look how precise his measuring is!
Yes, Kenner has developed the love of power tools just like his dad. Kenner was hillarious! He would watch his dad. This was Casey's routine -
1) Fit the sill on the window
2) Have me continue to hold the sill until Casey could get the drill to drill a hole through the sill
3) Get a screw and a regular screwdriver to screw in the sill.
Kenner got the routine down in one window. Instead of doing step 2, Kenner would just press the button on the drill (because it was too heavy to lift). It made the same sound as Daddy did, then he would continue on to step 3. Kenner was rather good with not dinging the woodwork while he stuck the regular screwdriver into the whole to finish screwing in the screw. It is amazing what things he picks up!

I love using the drill!

Look at his face...if that isn't concentration I don't know what is!

Day at Grandma's

This post should actually be dated:4/26/07. My mom had the boys for a couple days in April because I didn't have a babysitter for a few days...so here is what she had to say one morning...

The day began on a good note (Patton did not get up during the night)........BUT Kenner had messed with the alarm clock so we thought we were getting up at a normal time 6:30 but it was really like 6:00.

Kenner realized that his cheerios expanded so after he dropped his spoon he was eating his cheerios by finger (they fit perfectly on the tip of his finger) one at a time. He also thought this was funny.

Patton put himself to sleep this noon by sucking his thumb (I even took a picture of it).

Mom came over so I could run a few errands. We also put Patton in the clothes basket. Kenner went to town pulling him around. I think Kenner was confused when I told him to say goodbye to g-ma.

Kenner can say g-pa very well.

Patton seems afraid of me. Not sure if it is the glasses, my light hair or just me! He also loves to be held and loves his blanket.

Sassie has completely ruined one of my chair pads and has the living room looking like a tornado. It is almost like she is jealous and does this for attention.

I now understand why you put them to sleep early. I am not sure how you do it Rhiannon or how I did it. Patton reminds me of Andrea as a baby.

I need to get a few more things done before Mr. Kenner wakes up. Patton is being good now.
